About this Bursary
Victor White’s tenure as Principal of Clifton Preparatory School in Durban stretched from the beginning of 2015 to February 2020.
During this time he became known as an educator, mentor and colleague par excellence.
Victor was an educationalist at heart and relished the opportunities to connect with the young boys of Clifton Prep, whether spending time chatting to them in small groups or reading to the younger boys during a library lesson.
Victor’s passion for reading and the written word was a one of the reasons he championed the naming of the Prep library as the Helen Joseph Library.
Vic sadly succumbed to the Covid-19 virus in January 2021.
As a lasting tribute to a man who left an indelible impression on all Clifton community members who met him, Vic’s family requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to help establish a fund to assist a deserving young Clifton Prep boy with tuition and academic-related costs.
The Clifton Foundation is honoured to support the Victor White Memorial Bursary Fund and to assist in helping raise funding for this initiative and provide the relevant support to its beneficiaries.
The Victor White Memorial Bursary is awarded to a Clifton Prep boy who embodies the true ethos and values of Clifton.
